Automotive Interior / Exterior System Engineering

Automotive Interior / Exterior System Engineering

The Assignment

An automotive OEM required engineering support for the development of interior and exterior vehicle systems, with a focus on translating styling and functional requirements into manufacturable, production-ready component designs.

The assignment required detailed product engineering across vehicle components while addressing packaging, interfaces, geometry, assembly requirements and integration with surrounding vehicle systems.

Our Approach

CS TECH Ai provided product engineering support across the development lifecycle, progressing component concepts through detailed design and engineering validation.

The engagement included:

  • Concept development and feasibility assessment
  • 3D CAD modelling and detailed component design
  • Packaging and interface studies
  • Component integration within the overall vehicle architecture
  • Design optimisation for manufacturability and assembly
  • Engineering of mounting and attachment features
  • Design reviews and engineering validation
  • Drawing and engineering-documentation development
  • Design modifications and engineering support through development iterations
  • Support towards production-ready design

The work brought together design intent, packaging constraints and manufacturing considerations to develop vehicle components that could be effectively integrated with adjoining systems and progressed towards production.

Impact

Supported development of automotive interior and exterior systems from concept through detailed engineering.
Enabled integration of components within vehicle packaging and interface constraints.
Improved design maturity through engineering reviews, validation and iterative design development.
Addressed manufacturability and assembly considerations during the product-development process.
Supported progression of component designs towards production readiness.
