The Assignment
Large electrical distribution networks require accurate, connected and up-to-date information on network infrastructure, assets and consumers to support effective planning and management.
The assignment involved large-scale electrical network mapping and infrastructure data development, creating a geospatial foundation to support the digital modernisation of distribution networks.
The programme experience covered 65,000+ miles (approximately 104,000+ km) of network mapping, 5,000+ assets and infrastructure benefiting approximately 10 million consumers.
Our Approach
CS TECH Ai applied GIS-based utility mapping and data-management capabilities to create structured, location-enabled information for electrical distribution infrastructure.
The engagement included:
- Large-scale electrical network mapping
- GIS-based development and management of network information
- Mapping and documentation of distribution assets
- Creation of structured asset and network databases
- Development of georeferenced information to support utility planning
- Consumer indexing and linkage of consumers with network infrastructure
- Management of consumer attributes and connectivity information
- Establishment of traceability across transformers, feeders, poles and circuits
- Creation of a reliable geospatial foundation for network planning and management
CS TECH Ai's GIS-based Consumer Indexing approach enables utilities to connect consumer information with the corresponding network components, providing greater visibility of relationships across the distribution system.
